When Miriam and Jordan decided to leave city life behind and build their family home on a 1.11-hectare block in Queensland’s Scenic Rim, they quickly discovered just how expensive traditional construction can be. Initial quotes for a conventional shed-style home were well beyond their budget, so they chose a smarter path with our prefab/flat pack build (FutureFrame™) kit, ready for assembly.
In just five weeks, they had the main structure up, completing the frame largely on their own without any prior building experience. By taking this owner-builder approach and using a flat-pack system, they brought their actual build to lock up cost to around $218,000, this was around $200,000 less than what they were quoted for a traditional home.
This has enabled them to extend the use of their property into a flower farm and space for their kids to enjoy.
