Enquire online and a representative of our Shed House team will be in touch to discuss what you are after, finalise your design, and provide a quote with current manufacturing & delivery timeframes.
Once you are ready to proceed, you will receive an invoice for a 50% deposit, with the balance due prior to delivery.
The National Construction Code (NCC) sets out the minimum technical requirements for new buildings (and new building work in existing buildings) in Australia.
All WORK & PLAY spaces are designed and engineered to a Class 10a standard under the NCC. This standard is defined as being ‘non-habitable buildings or structures’, therefore you cannot live in your WORK & PLAY space.
Your registered building surveyor understands the NCC intimately and should be consulted if you require clarification of the intended use and what is permissible.
Timeframes varying depending on a number of different factors. Please allow 4 – 6 weeks for manufacturing & delivery from the date of your 50% deposit payment.
Delivery of your Shed House kit is FREE Australia wide.
We recommend you contact your Local Council and/or a Planning Consultant to understand if you need a planning permit for your non habitable WORK & PLAY Shed and better understand the process required in order to apply for a planning permit if needed.
It is likely that you will need a Building Permit to construct our WORK & PLAY spaces, however we recommend you contact your Local Council and/or a Building Surveyor to understand what is required to obtain a Building Permit as the requirements vary, typically based on size.
Shed House will provide you with the following documentation for you to submit to either Council or your Building Surveyor;
- Certified Structural Engineering Plans
- Site Specific Foundation Slab Plan
A suitable set-down area should be cleared prior to delivery. This is required to protect the kit and avoid any damage on site as this will be your responsibility.
Within 5 days of receiving delivery of your order, it is imperative that you undertake an audit of all materials and parts delivered. We recommend the best way to do this is to check that all parts listed on the ‘Bill of Materials’ have been received and have not been damaged in transit. Ideally your shed builder is involved in this process.
In the instance that any parts are missing or damaged, we will arrange for new parts to be delivered provided we are notified within 5 days of delivery.
We do not currently offer this service for our WORK & PLAY range, however we can provide you with a list of recommended Shed Builders/Trades in your area.
No, internal wall, floor & ceiling linings are not provided as standard within Shed House Kits. However, we do offer Durra Panel and laminex wall & ceiling linings as optional upgrades for your LIVE & PLAY spaces in addition to Ensemble joinery elements to suit your intended use.
Please note we do not currently offer floor linings as an optional upgrade. For a finished look we recommend a burnished concrete finish however we suggest you discuss this with your builder depending on the level of finish you desire.
Shed House strongly recommend that an experienced ‘shed builder’ be engaged to assemble your WORK & PLAY space. All kits come with an Installation Package which includes the following -
- Bill of Materials
- 3D Structural Model
- Installation Guide
- List of recommended Shed Builders in your area
In addition to assembling your WORK & PLAY space, your shed builder will need to arrange for your site to be prepared, a slab to be poured and all services to be reticulated, installed, and connected as required.
As noted, a flat set-down area should be provided for the kit and materials protected prior to and during assembly by your builder to ensure the completed WORK-PLAY space is completed to a high standard.
We understand that this is acceptable however you should always check this with your registered building surveyor.
The size, location and extent of windows are doors vary based on your selected WORK & PLAY space. Notwithstanding this, all standard windows and doors are single glazed.
- Doors have a maximise height of 2,100mm.
- Fly screens can be added as an additional upgrade.
If you want double glazed windows these may be offered as an upgrade.
WORK & PLAY spaces are designed to be bolted down to a concrete slab. If your property is in a severe wind zone category, the engineering for your shed may require cast in ‘U Shape’ brackets to connect to your frame. This will be considered in the structural design by Shed House Australia based on your nominated location.
